week4: technology and language learning

Week 4 is approaching its end , i got the feeling in this week as if i know things but they need to be organized and planned neatly after i read the articles on lesson planning. Lesson planning is a nice thing or it provides the teacher with a mind map and guides him throughout the course of the lesson and i believe that even a little information conveyed in an organized way will leave a lasting impression.Again i would say that this had been a fruitful week fir me in terms of knowing and analyzing my surroundings and available resources and thinking about how to put them to use.

Exploring a new world

This week was very interesting for me as i realized that  an entire new world exists which needs to be explored.I kept on thinking that places like Pakistan and people like my students can benefit very positively from it.I am impressed how good my colleagues are at using internet no doubt the problems are the same but those teachers who have excellent internet skills are far better and i have made up my mind to learn such skills on priority basis. Delicious seems to be a very interesting tool in our hand now we handle it, Mbrek is lucky enough that he knows about better options.Now it is challenging and interesting.

week 2 Technology in Learning

Second week has to come to an end it was a difficult one as I learned many new things.Searching has become very interesting when I went through the noodles.tools list and found a lot of new search engines.This information I have shared with my colleagues and they were happy to find  about it and use it.The nice-net discussions are quite fruitful for me and i am learning lot from it.I knew about making objectives but as marine said not in the way i learned it from the ABCD style. last but not the least using this blog is fun since it is making me think and critically evaluate my week and my learning experience. That is i believe that i am converting  into a thinking teacher.slowly and gradually this global class will enable me to think in a different way as after this week i feel that around the globe more or less foreign language teachers are facing the same problems.let us all try to sort some of these problems!

week1 reflections

Hi,
I am quite enthusiastic about the course as i believe it will give me opportunity to learn about the use of modern technology and to incorporate it successfully in teaching English as a foreign language in my classes.This is my first experience of using blog and creating it, It was not difficult but i was a bit confused about it in the beginning. Week one and its tasks,that were joining nicenet and creating this blog,were very much helpful for me since i practically entered into a new world where i can share and learn from others around me while sitting in my room.

Computer technology has brought about dramatic changes in our approach to a lot of things around us, It has made teaching of language for the teacher and learning of it for the student easier. I have experienced learning it through traditional way but for the past one year i came to the conclusion that those lessons that were taught with the help of multi-media were enjoyed and stayed with the learners for a longer time period. Hopefully i will learn many new ways of exploring this new world of internet and will help my other colleagues back at home here in Pakistan to benefit from my experience in this course.

One thing more if i a have missed out any details kindly guide me , i am very much open to that .
